Country Dancing
Article by Larry and Elyse Tellefsen.
E In general, any type of a dance is a friendly social activity where people meet and have some fun. The low pressure atmosphere of our Country Dances brings an energy into the room where the Clubhouse comes alive. You can come to watch, dance or try out the new popular dance craze. In continuing with the MBPOA’s 85 year mission of community Good Will and Welfare, the MBPOA has held a regular monthly Country Dance for the more than a year and a half.

Country Dancers

This activity has been so positive, that we’ve added a second dance for every month. Beginning April 2013, from 7:30 to 11:00 PM, the MBPOA will have a Country Night on the 1st and 3rd Friday’s of each month. With 3 lessons taught at each dance, it’s your opportunity to come out and get involved in a friendly social life filled with good will and good health. These dance nights are for pure fun and enjoyment with little to no room for politics. Our dances attract people from Kings Park to Amagansett. These dancers come here for more than a dance. They also come to discover a Historic and Scenic Mastic Beach where people are nice, fun and friendly.

March General Meeting
% Thursday March 7, 7:30 PM : The General meeting this month was a little busier. Interesting correspondence included:
1. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk informing us of their Garden School at St. Josephs Brentwood on April 6th and Riverhead Middle School on April 13th ; http://ccesuffolk.org/gardening/
and 2. Grace Lutheran Church's letter about their Family Table : Food Ministries http://www.graceinmb.org/devotional/

Then three lovely ladies from Project Hope and Club House of Suffolk spoke to the group. They are stationed at St. Andrews Church to help with Post Sandy Hurricane Relief. http://www.omh.ny.gov/omhweb/disaster_resources/project_hope/content/contact/

After some more business the 50/50 was drawn and the winner was Rickie Walsh.
